LG VX5200 launched by Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless and LG tonight announced the LG VX5200, a mid-range flip phone. Features of the VX5200 include:

VGA camera
Speakerphone with voice dialing
Internal 65K Color STN, 128 × 160 Pixels
External 65K Color STN, 96 × 64 Pixels
32 MB Flash/8 MB SRAM

The LG VX5200 is available now for $49.99 after rebate and with a new activation.

Samsung adds new gigabyte high-speed MMC cards

Samsung today announced some new high-capacity speedy MMC cards that should hit the market next month. Besides coming in sizes of up to 2GB, the cards are able to transfer at an impressive 52Mbytes/sec which is a 20x improvement.

Verizon expected to reduce EV-DO cost

UPDATE: It’s true. BroadbandAccess is in new markets too.
Reuters is reporting that Verizon Wireless will lower the cost of its unlimited EV-DO 3G data service. The package currently costs $79.99 per month. Sprint Nextel recently launched similar service is select cities for the same $79.99 price point.
