At the MotoSummer 2004 event in New York City, Motorola officially confirmed the MPx100 has been cancelled. We covered a rumor about this topic two weeks ago. The company cited demand for clamshell models as the reason for the MPx100’s cancellation.

A Motorola executive is quoted in a Finnish business paper as saying that Motorola will once again be the world’s largest mobile phone maker. Verizon Wireless will tomorrow launch its EV-DO powered BroadbandAccess data service in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will provide users with internet speeds of 300-500 kilobits per second.
