Strategy Analytics, a strategic consulting firm, released a study today that sheds some interesting light on buying trends and preferences among mobile-phone using gamers. The study interviewed 30 gamers over five different types of mobile phone games, and asked for their preferences. It also studied their preferred methods of purchasing mobile games.

Nokia 1661 Coming To T-Mobile

Nokia today announced the 1661, a basic, affordable bar-style phone for T-Mobile USA’s prepaid lineup. Phone features include a speakerphone, FM radio, and an LED flashlight. It also comes pre-loaded with Soduku and Mobile Soccer games. The 1661 will be available later in April.

iPhone App Store: 30,000 apps, but slowing

Shortly before 4 p.m. EDT on Thursday, eight months after it opened with 500 applications for the iPhone and iPod touch, Apple’s App Store passed the 30,000 mark, according to the count maintained by 148appss, which updates its list automatically. Apple 2.0 reports.
