Verizon music serice delayed to Q1 2006

Verizon Wireless’ music download service is now scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year according to a report in Forbes. The original goal was to get the service up and running before the holiday season. Analysts believe these will be over-the-air download services where users actually purchase songs with their handsets.

Sprint Nextel is expected to launch a similar service in Q4.
