T-Mobile USA announced its Q3 earnings today. Most notable is that the company has surpassed 20 million customers. Other figures from the quarter:
- 1.06 million net new customers
- Net income of $458 million, up over 80% from last year
- Revenue was $3.8 billion
- Pre-paid continues to succeed with the unit responsible for 32% of growth this quarter
- ARPU was $53, down from $54 a year ago
T-Mobile became a distant fourth place in US carriers after the merger between Sprint and Nextel. All of the other national carriers (Cingular, Verizon and Sprint Nextel) have over 40 million customers.
