Ahead of the Photo Marketing Association tradeshow, Sprint Nextel announced a new service dubbed Sprint PCS Picture Mail Groups that eases the process of sharing media captured with its phones. It’s somewhat similar to Vizrea Snap, a beta service for S60 phones that we reviewed this month.

Existing Picture Mail subscribers will be able to create a community and invite friends with either an email address or Sprint phone number. Community members then get notified when there is new content to view.

Picture Mail Groups should launch this Spring and will come at no additional fee.
