Matt Maier, a guest columnist at GigaOm, penned a quick review of the Sony Ericsson S700. According to Matt, the S700 is popular with Sony Ericsson representatives, which should speak for itself. Overall he liked the device.

According to various reports, the S700i is due to launch in the US from T-Mobile in late 2004 or early 2005. Imports from Europe can be purchased, but prices run north of $600.

Update: The S710a (an S700 with EDGE high-speed data) will be coming to Cingular Wireless in December for $399.
