Sony Ericsson fans awaiting the release of the company’s first Android powered handset won;t see it any time soon according to Sony Ericsson President Hideki Komiyama. Mr Komiyama didn;t say when the company would produce an Android handset, just that it will take some time to develop.
This is in stark contrast to other manufacturers like Samsung, which plan on releasing three Android handsets in Europe this year and HTC, which already has two Android handsets either released or just about to be.
Mr Komiyama did affirm that Sony Ericsson sees Android as an important operating system, alongside Symbian and Windows Mobile. That’s unlikely to assuage the disappointment of those looking forward to an Android handset from Sony Ericsson any time soon.
