Firefox Mobile, which is currently in its Alpha stage, and is in development for Nokia’s Internet Tablet Devices – such as the Nokia N800, and N810, as well as the Windows Mobile platform, will also apparently be making its way on to Symbian-powered devices. Says Mozilla’s Christian Sejersen, on the matter “in order for Mozilla to be relevant in the smartphone space, it needs to have a presence on the Symbian platform.
Being as, in Q3 of this year, Symbian had 49.8% of the total number of smartphones sold, Mozilla is very wise to target the platform, with its upcoming mobile browser. It’s thought that the Symbian version could see a release, sometime within the next few months.
