Send a text message to Chalkbot for cancer

July 12th, 2009 · Source [Textually] · No Comments

Crunchgear reports on The Chalkbot, a robot project from the Livestrong Foundation for cancer awareness. Launched July 5 for the Tour de France, anyone can send the robot a text message which will be printed out in chalk on the road.

The Chalkbot in appearance is similar to an ink jet printer, except at a much larger scale. The trailer mounted device is fully self-contained and pneumatically spray out either messages or graphics.

In their own words: Text ‘LIVESTRONG’ followed by your chalk message to 36453, and we’ll let you know when it’s written.

Own a piece of the road at the Tour de France. Write your message and it will be sent to the Nike LIVESTRONG Chalkbot. What words of hope, inspiration and encouragement will you share with the world?
