
T-Mobile’s Sidekick Slide Scarlet, the new color variant of the messaging-friendly handset, has gone on sale today as expected. With a QWERTY keyboard, slide-up QVGA screen and GSM/GPRS/EDGE data connection, the Slide’s key skills lie in its preloaded AOL, MSN and Yahoo! IM clients, together with support for POP3 and IMAP FETCH email. It also has T-Mobile myFaves a 1.3-megapixel camera, media player and microSD slot.
There’s also Bluetooth, MMS and SMS support. The browser has also been improved, with new JavaScript tweaks. T-Mobile are also keen on letting us know that they have a MySpace Mobile app available in the handset’s Download Catalog.
Quadband (850/900/1800/1900MHz), they’re quoting up to 5.9hrs of talktime or 3.6 days of standby. It measures 4.6 x 2.4 x 0.68 inches and weighs in at 5.3 ounces. The Sidekick Slide Scarlet is available now from T-Mobile. It’s priced at $199.99 with a new two year contract.
