Samsung Smooth sneaks into Verizon’s lineup

Samsung SmoothThe Samsung Smooth flip phone has quietly appeared at wireless provider Verizon. The entry-level handset has basic features, including a VGA camera with a night shooting mode, a Bluetooth connection and a speakerphone. The dual-band CDMA handset has access to the provider’s VZ Navigator service, and is capable of browsing the web, checking e-mail and accessing instant-messaging programs. The handset’s battery life is rated at 5 hours of talk time and 336 hours of standby. Verizon priced the Smooth at just about $30 with a two-year contract and a $50 online discount.
