Samsung SGH-i200 slim WM6.1 smartphoneSamsung have announced their latest Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone, the SGH-i200, though from the look of it you’d probably think it was a typical candybar. Measuring just 11.8mm thick, the triband GSM (900/1800/1900) handset has 3.6Mbps HSDPA (2100MHz), a 2.3-inch QVGA display and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. It’s one of Samsung’s first handsets to use the freshly updated Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard OS.

A 2-megapixel main camera and VGA front-mounted camera for video calls share 25MB of onboard memory, and there’s a microSD slot to add to that. The i200 also supports mobile printing and direct USB connections. It’s media player can handle WMA, MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, OGG and AMR files.

Battery life is rated at up to 4hrs talktime or up to 360hrs standby from the 1,100mAh power pack. That’s aided by the i200’s light sensor, which dims or boosts the backlighting of the LCD and keypad depending on ambient light levels. Overall, the SGH-i200 measures 116.7 x 50.8 x 11.8mm and weighs 102.2g.

The SGH-i200 will be available in Europe in June, with Samsung stating availability in “other markets” within a month. Pricing is yet to be revealed.
