Today Samsung announced a solar-powered mobile phone called the E1107 Crest Solar. The E1107 is able to charge the battery via the sun, and can provide 5 to 10 minutes of talk time for every hour it charges. The entire back of the phone is covered the with the solar panel necessary to collect the sun’s rays. The E1107 has dual-band 800/1900 GSM/EDGE and FM radios, as well as an MP3 player, GPS, a torch light and Mobile Tracker application. The Crest Solar will be on sale in select markets later this month. Pricing wasn’t disclosed.

Well, atleast if we are running late for office and have forgotten to charge our phone and don’t have a car charger,lol, we can just place this phone under the wind shield to be charged..:p. But, we really need such renewable sources of energy and I hope to see the most advanced mobile models equipped with solar batteries soon.
