HTC patents a smartphone type with two keyboards

HTC has filed a patent application for a smartphone with two keyboards – numeric and QWERTY. This isn’t a kind of a run-of-the-mill design – two keyboards make one, i.e. the digits are engraved on the QWERTY-keyboard’s buttons. You can use either of the keyboards in particular positions of the device. For the landscape mode you just pull down the QWERTY-keyboard and for the portrait mode – a part of the numeric keyboard, so the phone looks like an ordinary slider-phone. The source hasn’t shared the info when HTC would launch such device. However it might not take the company long to release the new type slider to the market.
