In such a hurry the company of Sony Ericsson turned the S600 into the second model of the Walkman series and gave it an index of W550. The differences are so minimal, though include grown memory size (up to 256 MB) and a preset orange panel (the second one is in a calmer colour). All the other characteristics are so similar that even code names coincide - the models are identical inside. A plain need to promote the Walkman series made the company change the course so fast and rename the current model.
As a result, a user gets a more interesting product for the same money - now it features 256 MB of memory which allows using the device as an MP3 player (about 2-3 hours of good qualitative music fit this size). The player itself was reworked and resembles the one for Sony Ericsson W800. At any rate, externally (inside, there are no differences from the K750).
We should mention, normal disjoinable earphones are included, and you can attach own headphones into a standard connector for them. But the “drops” are enough qualitative, which allows good sound. Also we should point out the presence of a Disc2Phone application. It allows converting musical CDs into MP3 files and transmitting them onto the phone. However, the program perfectly works with the ส750 and is free on the Sony Ericsson’s site. So, it’s not a bonus.
This model will be available in October for 350-370USD. The maker stressed the price will be kept on the level of the K750, though will exceed it at first. The price is to fall in the first quarter of the next year, and then the device will be interesting as a mass solution.
Not to repeat our own words, I’d like to offer you to read a corresponding material about the S600, since there are no differences between them.
