Palm’s new OS called Nova

PalmThe PalmInfocenter has reported that the new Linux-based operating system by Palm will be called Nova. At least this is the codename among the platform developers. Previously it had lots of names – Palm OS 2, POS II, POX, Palm OS by Palm, ALPOS and even Palm OS Mobile Professional Ultimate Treo edition. According to the source, Palm Nova developer’s version will come out by the end of this year.

At the same time the company will make the official announcement of the new OS. And we should expect new Nova-powered smartphones next February or later.

The PalmInfocenter says the new OS is currently tested inside the company on the smartphone codenamed Zeppelin (not yet unveiled to the public).
