HTC have essentially made Palm’s forthcoming Treo Pro handset for them. Not surprisingly, the main reason for this is HTC’s extensive experience with Windows Mobile-based smartphones. This wouldn’t be the first time that HTC have made a handset for another manufacturer - they more-or-less made the XPERIA X1 for Sony Ericsson. Of course, HTC’s main priority will still be their own-brand solutions. Remember, as it stands, they look to be the first handset maker torelease a handset running on Google’s Andriod OS, set to ship by the end of the fourth quarter of this year.
