Workers at Nokia’s Finnish plant staged a walkout in protest of the previously announced layoffs.

Estimates of how many staff members took part in the action, which started at 1200 GMT, were not immediately available. Workers will go back tomorrow morning.

The layoffs are in the research division and will affect higher-end handsets and the flailing N-Gage unit.
