LG Electronics today anounced its first quarter earnings statement for 2005. It was poor thanks to a bad investments in LCDs, but as far as mobile phones go:

• 11.1 million handsets shipped, up 27% from the same quarter last year
• The mobile division, which includes mobile phones, had a profit margin of just 4.7%

Sony Ericsson and Samsung have previously announced Q1 2005 earnings.
