New Yorker Uses iPhone Artwork for Cover

May 25th, 2009 · Source [Engadget] · No Comments

Some of you may remember the iPhone artwork that was doing the round son the tubes a few months ago, well the artist, Jorge Colombo, has had his artwork featured on the cover of the prestigious New Yorker magazine. The cover, depicting a New York cityscape was done entirely using Brushes, an app for the iPhone. For those who think that such things are little more than a gimmick the artist commented on how the app made his work easier by letting him work “without having to carry all my pens and brushes and notepads with me.” That traditional media that could arguably be seen as refined or stuffy is embracing mobile technology in such a way is an important indicator of how deeply mobile tech is penetrating our culture.
