Sonopia’s basic pitch is that, if you no longer wish to do business with the tier 1 and tier 2 mobile operators and want to create a wireless service that caters to your needs or your customers’ needs, it will do all the behind-the-scenes work. Sonopia acts as a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE). It has bought a bank of minutes from Verizon Wireless, and will let you build your own mobile plans, offer your own mobile services, and use the phones that you want. Individuals and organizations are able to create their own networks quickly and begin signing up members. The services are also tied to Sonopia’s web site, which offers users a rich online experience to manage their profiles, contacts and more.
