Verizon Wireless Bows New Smartphones

Today Verizon Wireless announced three new Windows Mobile 6 smartphones and a Palm smartphone to round out its business-device lineup for the rest of the year. Pricing and availability information is not available yet for the 755p, XV6800 or SMT5800.

Samsung i760

  • i760: This Windows Mobile 6 slider from Samsung has both a numeric keypad on the front and full QWERTY keyboard when opened. It also has stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3 Megapixel camera as well as EV-DO data. It will cost $350 after rebate and new two-year agreement. It will be available online starting October 19.
  • Treo 755p: The Palm OS 755p is similar to the 750p, but loses the antenna. It has EV-DO data, a 1.3 Megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth. The miniSD slot will support up to 8GB of additional storage.
  • XV6800: This HTC-designed slider has a full QWERTY keyboard, 2 Megapixel camera with flash, and Wi-Fi for browsing the internet. It runs Windows Mobile 6.
  • SMT5800: A WM6 slider from HTC, the SMT5800 has a 2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, Bluetooth and a regular keypad on the front.
