- The Nokia 7710 was officially announced
- Qualcomm is investing big in a nationwide mobile video network for CDMA phones
- Nokia is betting big on push-to-talk over cellular (PoC), released PoC software for some Series 60 phones
- Nokia announced new phones: the 6020 and the 3230
- Nokia launched a near field communications shell, a sign of the future
- Nokia’s going to release more than 40 new phones in 2005–over 20 of them will be clamshell models. Stay tuned to MobileTracker for info on each.
- Verizon purchased $3 billion in spectrum from NextWave
- AT&T Wireless close to launching MPx220
