Deutsche Telekom, the parent company of T-Mobile USA, has announced it will buy regional carrier SunCom for $1.6 billion. SunCom, like T-Mobile, operates a GSM network and also offer a version of the Danger Hiptop, known on T-Mobile as the Sidekick. The deal is expected to close in early 2008.
