Sprint is seeking additional funding to build out its WiMax high-speed data network. The carrier has contacted WiMax operator Clearwire about creating a partnership or Joint Venture that would include Clearwire’s network and Sprint’s WiMax assets. Sprint has also approached its cable partners for additional cash to build out its new high-speed network. Sprint has already committed $3 billion to building out its WiMax network and expects to launch in selected cities this year.
