Sony Ericsson is working on new technology that will combine the strengths of Java ME and Adobe Flash Lite into one Java application. By merging the two, developers will be able to circumvent the lack of features in one platform and substitute it with the features of the other. This will let developers create applications that take advantage of Flash’s user interface capacity and access phone functions through Java such as Wi-Fi. Sony Ericsson is going to release the APIs to developers later this year.
