Qualcomm Will Support 700 MHz Wireless Services

December 3rd, 2007 · Source [Qualcomm] · No Comments

Qualcomm recently said it is working on a CMOS transceiver that will support 700 MHz services. The single-chip, quad-band transceiver will work with both CDMA2000 and WCDMA devices, and will also include the 850, 1700, 1900 and 2100 MHz bands. The new chip is expected to sample in mid 2008, and will be incorporated into phones in early 2009. Portions of the 700 MHz band will be auctioned off in January, which will allow carriers to add services in that spectrum. Qualcomm’s MediaFLO technology also operates in the 700 MHz band.
