Palm stated that it will close all but one of its retail locations in an attempt to help it focus better on bringing its next generation platform to market. The stores will close over the course of the next five weeks, with all of them scheduled to be shut by the end of February. Palm will continue to sell its handsets and branded accessories through its network operator partners, as well as its own web site. Palm also recently said it would lay off some of its 1,200 workers in order to keep costs under control.
