Opera Software made the public beta of its new Opera Mini 4 mobile Web browser available for download today. Mini has been rewritten from the ground up to improve mobile browsing. It has a zooming feature that allows you to see an overview of the entire Web page and then zoom into the section you’d like to see, fitting the desired column to the width of the screen in a manner similar to the S60 browser or Safari on the iPhone. It also has a virtual mouse to let you select links on each page, as well as up-and-down and left-to-right scrolling functions built into the keypad. Mini works on most Java-enabled phones.
