Nokia has agreed to purchase Oslo-based mobile software provider Trolltech for $155 million. Once the acquisition is complete, which still needs to pass regulatory hurdles, Trolltech will become part of Nokia’s Internet Services division. Nokia hopes the acquisition will enhance its own cross-platform software strategy, helping to further bridge the way applications work between mobile devices and PCs. Trolltech will continue to operate in Oslo, and Nokia will work with it to expand the software it uses on Nokia devices, as well as the software it sells to other companies.
