The cover story for June 7’s Newsweek Magazine is The Next Frontiers: Way Cool Phones. Included in the piece is an interesting quote by the Palm inventor:
One day, 2 or 3 billion people will have cell phones, and they are all not going to have PCs,” says Jeff Hawkins, inventor of the Palm Pilot and the chief technology officer of PalmOne. “The mobile phone will become their digital life.”
That might explain Palm’s purchase of Handspring, who focused more on Smartphones than just PDAs.
The issue is on newsstands starting May 31st.
