New Tech Lets Users Trace Words On Touch Keypads

September 6th, 2008 · Source [DigitWireless] · No Comments

DigitWireless has announced a new text-input method for touch screen devices that allows users to trace words rather than triple tap them. Trace lets users of touch-capacitance keypads place a finger on the first letter of any word, and then trace their finger across the other letters in one motion. As you trace, word prediction and dictionary software will try to figure out what you’re typing. When done, lift your finger, and the word should be spelled on the screen. The software has yet to be included in any mobile phones, but it can now be licensed by phone manufacturers.
