T-Mobile today expanded its Sidekick line of messaging devices with the new Sidekick iD, a more affordable version of the popular device created by Danger. Based on the Sidekick 3, the iD retains the same basic form factor, size, and shape. A new feature is the user-changeable color bumpers that cover the side and corners. The iD includes the Sidekick 3’s most distinctive features, such as a trackball, QWERTY keyboard, and full web browser. Features shaved to reach the low price point include a camera, Bluetooth, EDGE data, a memory card slot, and USB. The Sidekick iD will be available for $99 with two-year contract starting April 25.
