MTube: a prototype for WiMAX mobile device

STAG (Science and Technology Advisory Group) from Taiwan has introduced a mobile device proto called MTube. It is powered by Linux OS and supports WiMAX networks. Reportedly, the finished product based on this proto will come out in 2009.

The specs of MTube:

  • CPU - 1 GHz
  • Chipset - VIA
  • OS - Linux
  • Display – 2.8” touchscreen 640×480 pixels
  • 8 GB of onboard memory
  • WiMAX support
  • Battery life - 4 hours
  • Dimensions – 85×85x20 mm
  • Weight - 150 g
