Motorola’s Linux-Java Grows Up To Become MOTOMAGX

August 7th, 2007 · Source · No Comments

Motorola today christened its Linux-Java platform MOTOMAGX, applying the name not just to future versions, but also to the current version found in the Z6 and V8. They also announced new developer tools to allow software developers to write native Linux applications, not just Java, for the devices as well as develop advanced web applications for MOTOMAGX’s Opera browser. This approach is similar to the one Apple has taken with the iPhone. Motorola also said it expects 60% of its devices to run MOTOMAGX in the next few years.
