August 26th, 2008 · Source [I4U] · No Comments

MotorolaMotorola announced its next generation push-to-talk (PTT) service that runs on its CDMA 1x EVDO Rev A network. Motorola says that the new PTT service takes advantage of vaster EVDO Rev A speeds to provide higher data rates, low call set-up time latency, and more quality of service.

The next generation service offers a buddy list showing the availability of other PTT users and the ability to support devices from different manufactures. The new PTT service also opens a path for future products that allow applications like Push-to-Productivity and encrypted PC-based dispatching.

“Motorola’s latest Push-To-Talk over Cellular release demonstrates our commitment to delivering innovative and relevant applications that enable service providers to offer both enterprises and consumers a truly competitive communications experience,” said Mark Poulin, senior director, Push-To-Talk product management, Motorola.
