More Phones Join YouTube Party

Both LG and Helio have announced plans to further integrate YouTube into their handsets on the heels of the iPhone’s surprise YouTube client. LG announced it will launch handsets with a mobile optimized client for both viewing and uploading videos later this year. The phones will initially be available in Europe. Helio announced it has freed access to YouTube mobile as well as upgraded Helio Up for the Ocean to upload videos to YouTube with two clicks. Helio also expects to launch a dedicated YouTube viewing client with additional later this year. YouTube currently provides a mobile site for viewing select clips that most carriers allow access to as well as means to upload clips from cell phones via MMS.
