Mobile Linux Forum Finalizes 1.0 Specifications

The Linux Phone Standards (LiPS) Forum has agreed to the basic specification list for Release 1.0. It includes APIs for mobile calendar, messaging, presence, reference model, telephony services, and user interface services. According to LiPS, the specification is all developers need to create basic interoperability for applications and services on Linux-powered mobile phones. LiPS will work on more advanced APIs during 2008, as well as seek hardware reference platforms from manufacturers.
