Today MetroPCS announced a new service for its customers that allows them to see the identity of callers even if the callers are not in their contacts list. Screen-it displays the calling party’s name on a subscriber’s wireless phone. This will let people screen their calls more effectively when an otherwise unknown number calls. MetroPCS says it added the service to further convince people to use their wireless phones as wireline replacements. Screen-it will be included with select wireless packages starting this month and will be an option available to add to other plans.
