Leap Acquires Hargray Communications for $30 Million

Leap Wireless announced its intent to acquire Hargray Communications’ wireless assets, which includes a 15 MHz spectrum license, its wireless operations and customers. The Hargray customers will be changed over to Leap’s Cricket service. Those that have bundled wireless and wireline services will remain with Hargray. Hargray’s network covers 695,000 people in Savannah, Georgia, and Hilton Head, South Carolina. The deal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2008.
