Google Clears FCC Auction Application Process

December 20th, 2007 · Source [Gearlog] · No Comments

Of the 266 applications to participate in the upcoming 700 MHz spectrum auction, 96 were accepted–including Google’s–and 170 were deemed incomplete. The incomplete applications will be sent back to the applicants for revision. Alltel, AT&T, Cox Wireless, Qualcomm, and Verizon Wireless all submitted applications deemed incomplete. The companies have until January 4 to revise their applications, and all bidders will be formalized only after they submit their upfront payments to the FCC ahead of the auction. The auction is set to take place on January 24.
