News Corporation is planning to make a beta mobile version of MySpace freely available beginning this week. Not all features will be available, but users will be able to send and receive messages and friend requests, comment on pictures and profiles, post bulletins, update blogs, find and search for friends, and view or change mood status. The free MySpace push is part of a larger plan to offer free mobile content from News Corporation, which owns MySpace and other sites such as AskMen and RottenTomatoes.com. All the sites will be supported by targetted mobile advertising.
