At the ITU’s World Radiocommunication Conference, a number of countries in Central and South America as well as Asia all agreed to make 700 MHz spectrum available for wireless broadband technologies. Neither Brazil nor Europe could adopt this spectrum because of policies already in place, however they each have adjacent spectrum in the 700-800 MHz range will they will clear for similar purposes by 2015.
