New Messaging Phone from Alcatel Passes FCC Scrutiny

How cellphones will enhance realityToday documents seen on the FCC web site provided details about an unannounced messaging phone from Alcatel. The OT-800A Tribe is a tri-band GSM/EDGE 850/1800/1900 device that has Bluetooth 2.0 with support for A2DP. The draft user manual notes features such as an accelerometer, 2 megapixel camera with video capture, microSD slot, radio, music player and the Opera browser. No carriers have voiced support for this device, but it is compatible with networks run by operators such as T-Mobile and AT&T.
