Opera Software today released Opera 8.5 for S60 phones. The last release (version 8) was released back in July.

New features in 8.5 include:

• Zoom-on-page to view images and text up close
• Custom keypad shortcuts
• Faster
• Improved image handling

For a full list of new features, check out the changelog. One important difference is that this Opera version runs only on Symbian OS 7.0 and higher.

Opera 8.5 is a free update to previous owners and $29 for first-time buyers.
