Nokia’s First LTE Trials Successful

November 7th, 2007 · Source [Nokia] · No Comments

Nokia has successfully completed the first round of tests for Long Term Evolution / System Architecture Evolution. The trial was a proof of concept and showed that the peak data rates of 100 Mbps on the uplink and 50 Mbps on the downlink are indeed achievable in both moving and stationary devices. There are still two more rounds of trials to be completed. The LTE standard has yet to be finalized, and it is not expected to go into service until 2010.
