MapQuest announced a “Send to phone” feature for its mapping service that allows users to send full color maps to their mobile phones.
To use the Send to Phone feature, a MapQuest Mobile subscribers simply need to visit the MapQuest.com website through their computer, get maps or directions, click on the Send to Phone link and input their cell phone number. Then, when away from their computer, they can use the MapQuest Mobile application on their cell phone to retrieve their maps or directions.
MapQuest Mobile is availablefrom almost every major US carrier. A subscription, including the Send to Phone feature, costs $3.99 per month from most wireless carriers and is included on your monthly bill. A data plan from the wireless carrier is needed to access the maps and is not included in the $3.99 charge.
