Today marks the Nokia’s release of SEEK, the third dimension of its mobile sharing site, MOSH (mobilize and share). SEEK allows the global MOSH community to connect with each other and share content that cannot easily be found elsewhere, such as specific mobile applications. Not only can MOSH users make requests for the content they want; community members can reply with suggestions or custom-created content answering the “SEEK”.
The first two dimensions in the evolution of MOSH was the ability to upload and share content worldwide and the downloading and customization of your device. Since MOSH’s beta launch on August 9, it has had more than 6 million downloads, with 80% of downloads happening through mobile browsers. MOSH is a service intended for all mobile devices and is not just Nokia-specific. Nokia, however, sees the strong potential of MOSH as a service shaped by and created for users. With SEEK, the possibilities are endless: mobile scavenger hunts, SEEK-sponsored competitions, even collaborations on applications by developers in Russia, India, and the US.
An exclusive demo of SEEK can be seen at CTIA Wireless in San Francisco on October 23 til the 25th. SEEK’s official launch is on December 14th.
