Cingular has announced that it will begin selling the Palm Treo 680. The consumer priced handheld will launch on black Friday (November 24th). The day after Thanksgiving is a huge shopping day and there should be a lot of great mobile phone deals.
Features of the Treo 680 include:
- Quadband GSM plus EDGE with internal antenna (a first for the Treo series)
- Palm OS
- 320×320 screen
- Bluetooth
Cingular will sell the Treo 680 for $199 with a 2-year service contract. That brings the price point of a Treo in line with most of its competitors (Motorola Q, T-Mobile Dash, Samsung BlackJack, BlackBerry Pearl, etc)–the Treo 650 has been over priced for quite some time. Palm is selling the 680 directly and unlocked for $399 with no contract.
